TEMPORARY SEA AREA AND INNER HARBOUR ENTRANCE CLOSURE BAY VIEW TO HARDINGE ROAD

NZ OFFSHORE POWERBOAT RACE

In accordance with the Hawke's Bay Navigation Safety Bylaws 2012, Clause 3.9, the sea area following the shoreline southwards from Bay View to the rock groyne close to the port at Battery Road and extending seawards up to 1500 metres, is reserved for a Powerboat race from:

12.30pm to 3.00pm Saturday 11 April 2015

During this time and within the course area and approaches: * all movements to or from Napier Inner Harbour are prohibited unless an emergency situation eventuates. In case of an emergency, vessels wishing to enter the Inner Harbour or race area must contact Coastguard on Channel 82. * NZ Offshore Powerboat Assn shall control the movement of all vessels and may remove debris, obstructions etc. * All unauthorised vessels are to keep out of the area. * Surfriding, windsurfer and jetski reserves are suspended. * Fishing floats, nets and kontikis are prohibited, and * Speed restrictions are uplifted. Powerboats competing in this race may exceed 150kph. Compliance with the above is essential for safety and failure to comply with the above restrictions or to comply with any directions given by race officials may lead to an infringement fine or prosecution of offender/s.                                      PHIL NORMAN, REGIONAL HARBOURMASTER
